Skin like Cleopatra!

Guest Post from Anna

My website: www.thehealthlifestylist.myforever.biz/store

Thank you so much to Nicole for letting me write this guest blog. I guess I should write just a few lines about myself. My name’s Anna and I’m a health and lifestyle blogger from Manchester in the UK. I am a scientist and academic by background and have recently become involved with an amazing company called Forever Living, who I believe produce superior health and nutrition products.

On this post, I would like to focus on the importance of looking after your skin from the inside out so that you can the best out of your make up. No amount of gorgeous make up or skin care products can undo the damage you do from within from bad habits such as smoking, eating junk or not getting enough vitamins. It’s a sad fact that the food we eat today isn’t as nutritious as it once was and people are starting to realize they need to supplement their diet. Your skin renews itself every 28 days, so what you’ve been putting into your body will reflect in your skin.

Forever Living produces an incredible health product that can help you ensure that when your skin renews, it will be healthy and glowing. That health product is the Aloe Vera Drinking Gel. The aloe vera plant has been used as a health tonic for centuries and was used by famous characters throughout history such as Cleopatra and Ghandi. It is actually only the very inner gel of the aloe plant that contains a cocktail of vitamins, minerals and amino acids, including nineteen of the twenty amino acids our body needs and seven of the eight amino acids that the body cannot produce itself. And what’s the best thing about this remarkable plant? This is a cocktail of goodness it is produced naturally by the plant and this means it’s more bioavailable and can be used quickly and effectively by your body.

Forever Living’s aloe drinking gel is as close as you can get to opening up an aloe leaf and consuming the gel inside and is made by cold pressing organic aloe gel. Aloe has been found to have a remarkable effect on the skin. When they are first produced, skin cells are large and thriving. However, as they make their way up to the surface, they become smaller and are transformed into just thin flakes of keratin, that eventually fall away. Imagine a balloon that withers over time. Drinking pure aloe provides essential nutrition to feed the new cells and ensures they arrive at the surface healthy and fully functioning. Aloe also increases the activity of cells known as fibroblasts, which produce both collagen and elastin. These fibers keep your skin looking young and plump so the more aloe you consume, the more fibroblasts you produce and the younger and healthier your skin will look.

This before and after photo is of my skin once I had began to drink the aloe gel every morning. As you can see, my acne cleared up and my skin felt so much healthier. Combining the aloe drinking gel with our collagen and elastin enriched aloe based moisturizer will result in healthier and more glowing skin. The perfect canvas for all that gorgeous make up. Start with 120 ml daily every morning and then cut down to 60 ml.

I really hope you’ve benefited from reading this post and I’d love feedback from anyone’s who tried this incredible product. And remember, you literally are what you eat!

Kiss your dry skin goodbye!

I have the perfect home remedy for dry skin that is cheap, quick, natural and effective. All you have to do is follow these steps:

Step 1 Rinse your face with cool water

Step 2 Add a teaspoon of baking soda into the palm of your hand than mix it together with your face wash. You can also mix the baking soda with water but I prefer mixing it with my face wash. The face wash that I use is Cetaphil.

Step 3 Apply the paste with your fingertips gently in small circles over your dry areas of the skin.

Step 4 Rinse completely with cool to lukewarm water.

Step 5 Pat dry your face.

Step 6 Apply your moisturizer to your face. I use Argan oil.

This makes a great exfoliating scrub. I do this for my skin twice a week.

Lets Talk Contour!

My favourite part about doing make up is the contouring. I’ll never leave my face without contouring and highlighting when I’m doing my make-up. You can use any type of bronzer for contouring just remember ladies when contouring make sure that you're using a bronzer that is at least 4-5 shades darker then what you are.
One of my favourite bronzers that I use to contour my face is the Hoola bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics. I love this product because it leaves your skin with a natural looking tan and it's a pure matte colour with no sparkles or shine. I personally don’t like to use any bronzers that have sparkles or spine in them so I stick with just a matte colour when choosing bronzers for myself. This is why I prefer this bronzer because it will give you that dark contouring look.
Here are some pictures of me with a full contour and highlighting face with using the Hoola bronzer. I will also be posting a step-by-step with how I achieve my contour and highlighting look and with all the products and brushes that I use so stayed tuned!

Ladies what are your favorite bronzers to use for contouring?

Green Glow Smoothie

Green Glow Smoothie is a delicious smoothie that is quick and easy to make and allows you to get your full servings of veggies. Not only is this smoothie a good way to get your veggies in but it also helps to decrease acne, clear your skin, and leaves your skin feeling smooth. This smoothie also helps with many other things such as: increasing your energy levels and speeding your hair and nail growth. I have been drinking this smoothie everyday for 2 weeks for breakfast and I love it. I have already seen results in my skin and it makes me feel so energetic.

Here is the recipe below:

1 cup cold filtered water
3 cups spinach, chopped
1 cup romaine, chopped
1/2 apple, chopped
1/2 pear, chopped
1/2 banana, chopped
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

*Add water, spinach and romaine to the blender. Start the blender on a low speed; mix until smooth
*Gradually move to a higher speed than add the pear and apple
*Add the banana and lemon juice last

Enjoy!

Dose of Colors

Spring has finally sprung ladies! It's time to get your new Spring lips on!

Dose of Colors is a make-up website where they sell lipsticks, lipgloss, and lashes. I have recently purchased some new Spring colors from the website and I'm absolutely in love with them. They have an awesome color selection that is just prefect for Spring and Summer. Even the prices are amazing for the lipsticks and lipgloss. The best part is that they ship internationally too.

My absolute most favourite lipstick is called "Love Potion" it gives you such a fabulous look and is perfect for a night out.

Another reason why I just cant get enough of these lipsticks is because they last very long on the lips. I had a night out a few weeks ago and I applied "Love Potion" on and when I came home I fell asleep without taking my make-up off and I woke up with the lipstick still perfectly on my lips like I just applied it.

Here are some photos of the lipgloss and lipsticks that I've purchased from Dose of Colors. They have more colors on their website that I will need to order because I just love them all.

Lipgloss
Burning Love
Sunshine Kisses
Cotton Candy

Lipsticks
Coy
Seductive
Love Potion

I've also came across another website for lipsticks that have a large variety of colors that are amazing. I will be be ordering them sortly too test them out so stay tuned for another post about some more fabolous lipgloss and lipsticks to wear for an everyday look and for a night out.

What's your favourite lipstick or lipgloss brand?
